Mary Alice King, 63, of Pinebuff, North Carolina was born September 17, 1955 in Pinehurst, North Carolina to the late Guster and Annie King. She departed this life on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

In her youth she was nicknamed Ail, short for her middle name Alice. She was the sixth of seven siblings. Mary was educated in the Moore County School System.  After receiving her education, she relocated to Westberry, New York.  After several years working as a nurse’s aide, she returned to North Carolina where she worked in food service management.

She was committed and served faithfully in the ministry at Jesus Is King of Deliverance Ministries.  She served under Overseer Virginia D. King, her sister in law, and the Senior Pastor Derrick R. King, her nephew.  Mary Alice King served many years as an usher and a Sunday School official.

Mary Alice King was a true social butterfly who loved people. She was extremely generous and kind to everyone she met.  She greeted everyone with kind words and a big smile. Mary had a sweet spirit and kind heart. She loved and cared for many animals, including her current pet dog named Minaj. Mary also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with nature, including fishing and gardening.

Mary was a loving mother-figure, sister, aunt and friend.  Preceding her in death were three brothers, Jerome King Sr., Joseph King and Maxie King Sr. 

She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, one brother; Guster King Jr. (Erma King) of Pinebluff, Arkansas, two sisters; Ethel K. Robertson of Pinebluff, North Carolina and Barbara Barnes of Southern Pines, NC a sister-in-law; Virginia D. King, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.

Family visitation will be held 6-7 pm on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Jones and Little Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Jesus Is King of Deliverance Ministries 550 Ashemont Road Aberdeen, North Carolina. Burial will follow at Wayne Cemetery in Addor, North Carolina.
