Woman in critical condition after car crash

A woman was airlifted in critical condition after a car crash Thursday afternoon. The two-vehicle accident occurred in Aberdeen at the intersection of Highway 211 and Glasgow Street.

A Toyota sedan was heading east on Highway 211 when a Chevrolet SUV came through the stop sign at Glasgow and into the path of the Toyota, according to authorities.

The impact sent the SUV over an embankment where it came to rest upside down. The Toyota remained in the road with extensive front-end damage, and debris scattered on the highway.
