Alene Ennis Fipps, 94, of Carthage, NC passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Alene was born November 30, 1928 in Johnston County, NC to the late Donius Rae and Sally Byrd Ennis.
Alene leaves to cherish her memory five children; James Parker (Florence) of Arizona, Connie Mack Parker (Patricia) of Statesville, NC, Rev. P.J. Parker (Janet) of Blackstone, VA, Darlene Key of Carthage, NC, and Ann Parker of Chesapeake, VA; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Michelle (Dave), Kimberly (John), Ryan, Matt (Jodi), Beth Ann (Dan), Shane (Heather), Emily, Jenna (Jordan), Joshua (Meagan), and Ann-Marie (Jonathan); 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Cleatus Parker, Sr., and second husband Howard Fipps; 11 siblings and grandchild Reid Key.
Alene was known to her children as a loving and dedicated mother. She loved her family dearly, and that was displayed in everything she did. She was an extremely hard worker, she was graceful but very determined and resilient woman. She will be sorely missed by her family and everyone she touched in life. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Alene also enjoyed growing flowers and watching birds.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2237 Camp Easter Road, Carthage, NC 28387. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
