Bob went to work with CP&L at the bottom of the ladder and worked his way to management as Division Superintendent of lines before he retired. He followed in his dad’s footsteps as his dad was also employed with CP&L and was Superintendent of lines before his death in 1946.  After retirement he completed a course at Campbell University in religion and became the minister at Ephesus Baptist Church where he served for 20 years. He and his wife Pauline enjoyed many good relationships with the congregation there. He retired in 1983 and took a sabbatical before returning to the ministry as the interim pastor at Red Branch Baptist Church. His ministry there was for 5 years at which time he retired and went to serve at Aberdeen First Baptist Church where he began his ministry. After some time of rest, he served for three years at Harmony Baptist Church, retiring because of his wife’s Pauline’s illness. After her death in 2014, Bob went back to Harmony Baptist Church for two years before finally retiring completely from the ministry. In 2016 he married his second wife Helen, and enjoyed serving the Lord until his death.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Pauline Edna Morrison and his son David Robert Morrison.
