Crash detours traffic in Vass

A crash in Vass sent two people to the hospital during the Friday 5 o’clock bustle. The rear-end collision occurred on Highway 690 and Byrd Road.

According to authorities, a Dodge Ram collided with the rear end of a Toyota Camry. The impact caused the Camry to go off the road. The Camry suffered significant damage to its rear end, while the pickup truck sustained moderate damage to its front end.

Moore County EMS took the driver and passenger of the Camry to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital to be evaluated. The driver and passenger of the truck were not injured.

Both lanes of Highway 690 were blocked, and traffic was detoured while the scene was cleared. 

The N.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
