Two people were taken to the hospital after being involved in a car accident Monday. The accident occurred at the intersection of Fort Bragg Road and Elk Road at 1:35 p.m.

A Jeep Cherokee and a Dodge Challenger collided at the intersection sending the Jeep off the road and down an embankment. Neither driver suffered life threatening injuries.


Fort Bragg Road was shut down while emergency crews worked. Southern Pines Police were on the scene and will be investigating the exact cause of the accident.

Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire & Rescue and Moore County EMS.
