George Vernon Milks, 81, died Thursday, June 1, 2023, surrounded by his family.
George was born June 8, 1941 in Maryland but lived most of his life in North Carolina. He worked in the furniture industry all his life. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Time spent with family, especially grandchildren was very important. George liked yard sales, flea markets, just riding around and enjoying a good meal in his favorite restaurants. He attended Whynot Wesleyan Church. Geroge was a son of the late Gordon Joseph and Rosa Sheffield Milks and was preceded in death by wife of 53 years, Lois Brewer Milks; son: Michael Vernon Milks; brother: Gordon Joseph Milks.
George is survived by companion: Jessie Brown; son: Greg Milks and wife Teresa, of Asheboro; daughter: Patricia Whitley and husband Michael, of Asheboro; grandchildren: Wayne Bartlett, Jr., Jacob Whitney, Stephen Whitley, Heavin Milks, “Lil G’ Milks, Matt Milks; great grandchildren: Michael, Wayne, Katie, Brayden, Tyler, Logan, Carter, Cooper, Emma; great great grandchild: Piper; daughter in law: Deborah Leigh Milks; sister: Mary Milks Brewer; sisters in law: Donna Aycock and husband Fletcher, Becky Milks, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, NC, with Reverend Darrell Rabon officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Kennedy Funeral Home.
