Two Greensboro men were arrested after an investigation into a series of convenience store break-ins that occurred in Moore County and across North Carolina, according to Sheriff Ronnie Fields.
On October 6, deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office responded to Mac’s Food Store, located at 735 Sandpit Road in Aberdeen, following a report of breaking and entering and larceny. Prior to this incident, deputies were assisting the Pinebluff Police Department with a similar burglary at Nic’s Pic Kwik, located at 150 North Walnut Street in Pinebluff.
Through investigative efforts, detectives determined that these incidents were related to two additional break-ins in Moore County and were consistent with a pattern of burglaries targeting convenience stores across North Carolina.
As a result of a coordinated, multi-agency investigation involving approximately 20 law enforcement agencies statewide, including the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), two suspects, identified as Bobby Williams, Jr. and Beroy Reid, Jr., both residents of Greensboro, were arrested in Greensboro on October 17 at approximately 8 a.m.
Both individuals are facing the following charges:
· Felony Breaking and Entering
· Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering
· Felony Possession of Stolen Goods/Property
· Felony Possession of Burglary Tools
· Felony Conspiracy
· Misdemeanor Breaking and Entering Coin/Currency Machine
· Misdemeanor Littering
Williams was committed to the Moore County Detention Center, held without bond, and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on November 12. Reid was also committed to the Moore County Detention Center after he received a $1,500 secured bond, and he is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on November 26.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
