Evelyn Meggs Harvell, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Evelyn was born October 23, 1916 to the late Loren B. Meggs (L. B.) and Jessie Windham Meggs in Timmonsville, SC.

Evelyn, was a homemaker and a very creative person who painted, drew and wrote poetry and essays. She was also an athletic person who rode her bicycle, hiked and shot hoops well into her eighties. She loved the beauty of nature and being out of doors but she had no love that equaled her love of family, except her love of God. Evelyn attended Cool Springs United Methodist Church in Carthage as a child with her father and later attended several Methodist and Baptist Churches in the different places she lived.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her husband George Henry Harvell, a daughter, Georgia Maynard, a dear sister, Rosa Palmer, a dear brother, Houck Meggs, and a dear brother B.K. Meggs. Surviving are a daughter, Frances Campbell (Sterling) and granddaughter, Lisa Maynard Pasquarelli (Jason),and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved.

A service of remembrance will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Cool Springs United Methodist Church, 2027 Cool Springs Rd., Carthage, NC 28327. Attendees are invited to visit with family and friends in the Fellowship Building, next to the church, at the end of the service.

The family requests that memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, be made to Cool Springs United Methodist Church.
