Two accidents on Lobelia Road Wednesday

Two accidents on Lobelia Road resulted in minor injuries on Wednesday.

A young male driver escaped serious injury after crashing his car in Lobelia Wednesday evening. Emergency units were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident shortly after 6 p.m. on Lobelia Road near the intersection of Charging Charlie Way.

When first responders arrived, they found a Honda Civic passenger car that was traveling west on Lobelia Road had lost control and ran off the road crashing into a tree and then spun around hitting another tree before coming to a stop in the wooded area. There was heavy damage to the vehicle.

The driver was the only occupant and was transported to Moore Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

During the morning hours, a truck hauling cement overturned on Lobelia Road near the intersection of McLaughlin Road shutting down the road for a few hours. The driver had minor injuries. Traffic was detoured to Byrd Road.
