According to officials, a Ford SUV was traveling northwest on McReynolds Street when the scooter attempted to take a right turn from Ray Street, striking the SUV on the front passenger side.
A landing zone was set up at the Pik-n-Pig in Carthage to fly the scooter driver to UNC Hospitals. The driver was stable at takeoff. The female driver and male passenger of the SUV were unharmed.
“This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road awareness and safety for all motorists,” said Carthage Fire Department on its social media page about the crash. “Whether you’re in a car, on a motorcycle, or riding a moped, always stay vigilant, follow traffic laws, and be mindful of others on the road.”
