Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of two individuals following the execution of a search warrant in the Carthage area of Moore County, said the Sheriff’s Office in a press release.
On May 30, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search at a residence in the 100 block of Barbers Park Drive in Carthage. During the search, investigators reportedly seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, THC oil, Suboxone, drug paraphernalia, four firearms, and over $1,000 in U.S. currency.
As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Christopher Verbal of Carthage was arrested and is facing the following charges: trafficking in opium or heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the use of controlled substances, simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor child abuse, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Verbal was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a 48-hour hold with a court date set for June 12 in Moore County District Court.
Also arrested was 22-year-old Dasani Collins, also of Carthage. Collins is facing the following charges: possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the use of controlled substances, simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor child abuse, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Collins was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $125,000 secured bond and is also scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on June 12.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
